Founded in 1981, Amtech Systems is a publicly traded company (Nasdaq: ASYS) supplying essential equipment, services and consumables to the semiconductor industry. Our Semiconductor Fabrications Solutions (SFS) business provides consumables, parts and services for power semiconductor and mature node semiconductor OEMS. Our Thermal Process Solutions (TPS) business provides equipment and services for semiconductor advanced packaging applications, electronic assembly and power semiconductor packaging. The company manufactures products in several factories in the US and China and serves global customers.
Summary Objectives
The General Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the long-term growth and profitability of our Semi-Fabrication Solutions (SFS) business units. This comprises Entrepix Inc., Intersurface Dynamics, Inc. and PR Hoffman. This critical role will ensure we capitalize on significant market trends by developing commercial and technical strategies that allow us to win in our chosen markets. Additional responsibilities will include execution of key business development, commercial, and innovation culture programs to strengthen our portfolio. A leader with a focus on profitably growing our global business. The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial background, with the capability and desire to set strategy and actively participate in executing that strategy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Responsible for 20M P&L for the SFS business, which currently consists of PRHoffman, Entrepix and IDI.
· Drives revenue and manages costs to achieve financial performance. Generates data-driven insights on performance, creates strategies to improve/optimize business model, and leads efforts to drive strategies to effectively manage P&L.
· Develop a strategy for the SFS business to deliver strong revenue growth (organic and inorganic).
· Builds and develops an organization to successfully execute strategy.
· Drives cultural and process change to improve organizational effectiveness and foster innovation.
· Supports initiatives to leverage capabilities and standardize processes across Amtech.
· Maintains a high level of Market intelligence by developing a full understanding of our markets and
customers, how they buy, and their buying criteria; and a full understanding of our competition and how to secure and grow our market share.
· Interfaces effectively and establishes quick credibility and confidence with high-level management at our key customers and internally.
· Leads organization to achieve weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual performance goals.
· Develop, implement, and maintain budgetary and resource allocation plans.
· Delegate responsibilities to the best-qualified employees and enforce developed standards, policies, and cultural values.
QUALIFICATION
Required Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or equivalent.
· 15+ years’ experience driving strategy and successfully managing product or channel marketing programs.
· 10 years minimum managerial experience with professional staff.
· 10 years minimum commercial experience in the semiconductor industry (consumables and/or process equipment).
Required Skills and Abilities:
· Strong sales and marketing orientation. Proven experience and success in market development, product marketing and/or new product development is key.
· International exposure, particularly Europe and Asia.
· Demonstrated success in a Business-to-Business environment, leading the effort to develop new markets.
Preferred Education and Experience:
· MBA with an emphasis on Marketing or Business Management.
· P+L Management of a $10M+ Business Unit in the semiconductor industry.
