Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced US GAAP & Technical Accounting Senior Manager to serve as the company’s primary authority on complex accounting matters, leading technical research, policy drafting, and preparation of high‑quality accounting memos for executive leadership and external auditors along with SEC reporting and general accounting support. This role will report to the Corporate Controller and work primarily with Corporate Accounting and Reporting to ensure consistent and accurate application of US GAAP in a public company environment. The ideal candidate has 8+ years of progressive technical accounting or audit experience, strong problem-solving, critical-thinking abilities, excellent memo‑writing skills, and experience supporting a publicly traded company. This is a high‑visibility, high‑impact role with opportunities to influence policy, compliance, reporting, and strategic transactions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

·         Serve as the company’s technical accounting subject matter expert for complex judgments and emerging accounting standards.

·         Lead technical research and the development of audit‑ready memos for areas including ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 805, ASC 350/360, stock compensation (ASC 718), financial instruments, consolidation (ASC 810), and other significant GAAP topics.

·         Draft audit-already technical memos with clear positions, alternatives considered, authoritative citations, and rationale; socialize conclusions with leadership and auditors.

·         Lead purchase accounting analyses, valuation coordination, and integration considerations for acquisitions when they occur.

·         Review customer contracts, supply agreements, and partnership arrangements for technical accounting impact.

·         Direct the Company’s technical accounting oversight while partnering closely with the SEC Reporting team on all aspects of external reporting. Support the preparation, review, and analysis of 10‑Q/10‑K filings, earnings releases, footnotes, and MD&A sections, providing technical guidance on complex accounting matters to ensure full compliance with US GAAP and SEC requirements.

·         Support adoption/disclosure of new standards and significant estimates; contribute to Audit Committee and management reporting materials as needed.

·         Provide general accounting support to the Corporate Controller.

·         Provide training to the broader Finance and Accounting teams on new standards, recurring judgment areas, and best practices.

·         Monitor FASB updates and evolving interpretations; perform impact assessments, quantify potential effects, and lead implementation roadmaps.

·         Manage high‑volume, time‑sensitive deliverables by working independently, efficiently, and with exceptional attention to detail, ensuring all technical analyses and documentation are completed accurately and on schedule.

 

Qualifications:

·         8+ years of progressive accounting experience with a strong emphasis on US GAAP and technical accounting.

·         Experience in public accounting (Big 4 or national firm) or a technical accounting role at a publicly traded company.

·         Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, master’s in accounting or tax is a plus.

·         CPA highly preferred.

·         Proven ability to produce high‑quality technical memos, research analyses, and policy documentation.

·         Expert user of Active Disclosure, Workiva (Wdesk), or similar SEC filing platforms, with the ability to support tagging, version control, workflow management, and high‑quality preparation of 10‑Q/10‑K filings.

·         Strong critical thinking, problem‑solving, and independent judgment capabilities.

·         Experience with SEC reporting, SOX 404 compliance, and external auditor coordination.

·         Ability to manage multiple complex projects with competing priorities in a dynamic public-company environment.

·         Proficiency with Excel; familiarity with consolidation tools, revenue subledgers, lease systems, and equity administration platforms is a plus.

 

 

Preferred Skills:

·         Experience in manufacturing, industrial technology, or capital equipment industries, preferred.

·         Exposure to multi‑entity structures, global consolidation, FX, or intercompany processes.

  • Understanding of SEC & SOX compliance and audit requirements.
  • Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple deadlines.
