Job Summary:

The Senior Field Service Engineer leads all technical field aspects of aftermarket activities for all company products worldwide such as advanced installation, maintenance, and repair. They will respond to complex customer-related technical inquiries and problems to provide robust training support, as well as ensure timely resolution of customer issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·       Install, calibrate, and commission BTU manufacturing equipment at customer sites.

·       Perform routine and preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.

·       Repair and refurbish semiconductor equipment with accuracy and efficiency.

·       Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and provide effective solutions to resolve issues promptly.

·       Conduct advanced equipment upgrades and modifications as needed to enhance performance and meet customer requirements.

·       Provide advanced technical support and training to customers on the operation and maintenance of semiconductor equipment.

·       Document detailed service activities, including maintenance logs, repair reports, and customer communications/invoicing.

·       Collaborate with engineering and technical support teams to proactively resolve complex equipment issues by utilizing specified documents such as Field Service Reports, Start-Up Checklist and Installation Quality Reports as appropriate for the job.

·       Maintain an elevated level of customer satisfaction by addressing customer needs and concerns promptly and professionally.

·       Coach and train other Field Service Engineers on equipment toolsets.

·       Work cross functionally to support company culture, values, such as leading onsite and offsite training regarding products and services.

·       Follow ISO procedures and guidelines and proper safety protocol, including wearing appropriate PPE where designated.

·       Travel both domestically and internationally up to 75% of the time.

Qualifications:

Required Education & Experience:

·       Must have a valid Driver’s license and passport.

·       Bachelor's in Applied Science, Electrical, or Mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.

·       5+ years experience installing and maintaining complex electromechanical equipment at customer sites. Experience in the semiconductor or SMT industry would be beneficial.

·       Understanding of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programs is plus.

·       Comfortable with up to 75% travel to customer sites worldwide with regular last-minute travel. Some evenings and weekends are necessary to accommodate production and scheduled service demands.

Skills & Competencies:

·       Ability to work independently and on a team to meet time sensitive deadlines

·       Advanced experience with mechanical instrumentation and basic mechanical tools.

·       Subject matter expert in installing and maintaining complex electromechanical equipment at customer sites. Experience in the semiconductor or SMT industry  would be beneficial.

·       Ability to read, analyze and interpret business and technical documents.

·       Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to perform detailed machine installations, repairs, and ensure accurate documentation and reporting. Must be able to communicate with internal and external customers through multiple means of communication such as phone, email, etc.

·       Ability to perform intermediate math to perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.

·       Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and internet software. Proficiency in project management software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Visio considered a plus.

·       Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for periods of extended time, sit for extended periods of time, and work in front of a computer screen for extended periods.
